ICFTN Professional Development Committee Update - January 1, 2019

Nina Morel and Glenn Maul have accepted the role as co-chairs of our Professional Development Committee in 2019. Our goal is simple: continue to build on the excellent platform built by Walter Tieck and Dayle Savage. We have already secured Diane Watson and Amanda Blanck as committee members and are looking to add at least one more member.

The speaker at our January 11,2019 ICF-TN meeting will be one of our own members, Edy Nash. Edy will be focusing on “Conversations that Sell”. Her focus will be around turning prospective conversations into clients.

Our March 8, 2019 meeting will feature Carrie Spaulding, PCC. She will be the featured luncheon speaker and also host a workshop after lunch. Her subject matter is “Improvisation in Coaching”, and will focus on the coach competencies of active listening and coaching presence.

The Professional Development Committee has set the following two goals for 2019:

  • Provide high-quality programs in a variety of modalities for a range of coaches (varied in discipline and experience). Some of the tasks will include:

    1. a needs survey of members around preferred topics

    2. explore more virtual meetings

    3. streamlining and advertising our “call for participation” process

    4. soliciting sponsorships

    5. seeking to bring in compelling speakers to improve attendance.

  • Improve the professional profile of coaching and the business success of our members. Some of the tasks we will focus on are:

    1. Providing programs related to core ICF competencies.

    2. More communication around the importance of the core competencies and the connections between our meeting content and core competency development.

    3. We are looking to provide onboarding sessions for potential and new members.

    4. We will have a specific focus around technology and coaching.

    5. We plan to conduct a workshop with coaches and business leaders

The Professional Development Committee welcomes input and participation in our planning process.

ICFTN Program/Event Cancellation Policy

No need to wait to register for ICFTN programs & events!  If you register in advance for an ICFTN program and later find that you cannot attend, we have a very fair cancellation policy:  ICFTN will issue a refund for those pre-registered for events/meetings if they inform us up to 5 business days prior to the event. After that time, we will not issue credits for luncheons or workshops if you are unable to attend.

Mentor's Needed to Welcome New ICFTN Members

The ICFTN Membership Committee would like to welcome all new Members and Returning Members.  Help us make your membership a learning and rewarding experience by letting us know your goals and intentions. Also, the Membership Committee is open to your suggestions on improvements we could make to better serve you -- we are always looking for ideas and suggestions from our membership.
