ABOUT THE CHAPTER WORKSHOP

Even experienced coaches fall into the trap of focusing on the client’s dilemma instead of coaching the stories and context the client is attached to. The coaching then feels like it is going in circles. Clients may think they have found solutions, but if the conversation stayed on the surface it’s likely their challenges will reappear again soon.

This workshop will help you get to the source of the client's dilemma by more deeply coaching the human in front of you. When you coach at this level, regulating your own emotions and being with their emotions is critical to staying the course toward breakthrough. You will learn what is required to facilitate the emergence of powerful insights by embodying a coaching mindset while you apply your coaching skills in new ways. There will be a demonstration of coaching with the presenter and a chance to practice and then dialogue about your experiences of going deeper.

4.1 - Seeks to understand the client within their context which may include their identity, environment, experiences, values, and beliefs.
